First Visit

Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some detailed paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Examination

During your exam, we will take a detailed health history and perform tests that will provide us with a more complete picture of you health issues. This important and necessary part of your first visit allows us to implement the most appropriate and specific treatment plan for your condition. Chiropractic care is not for everyone, and our detailed examination and consultation will allow us to determine whether chiropractic care is the best choice for you and your health.

X-ray Studies

Once the physical portion of the exam has been completed, you will then receive any indicated x-ray imaging specific to your condition.
This will allow us to further examine your condition to render the most specific care as well possible. it also serves to ensure that there are no underlying structural issues that would prevent you from safely receiving chiropractic care.

Same Day Treatment

Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. The visit begins with a consultation and review of findings with Dr. Briggs. You will then receive the most appropriate care for your condition. This may include the chiropractic adjustment, physiotherapy, exercise therapy, or manual therapies.

Treatment Plan

Each person is an individual and the approach to your condition is no different. Typically, it takes multiple visits to fully address your condition. Throughout your treatment plan, the techniques employed and the modalities you receive may change as your body heals. Communication is key between yourself and Dr. Briggs as we work towards meeting your treatment goals.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be advised on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
